EARTH DAY

April 22 was Earth Day, on that day we were supposed to give a little bit more attention to our planet.
Like what....?
We can just simply turn off unused electronic devices, bike to work, use scrap paper, or just by throwing our waste in the garbage bin.

Kelt did activities to make earth a little more comfortable to live in. Early sunday morning at Taman Bungkul, we gave away Kelt Zero Waste Bags in exchange for plastic bags brought by visitors, and also trees to plant at their houses.

So....have you decided yet what are you going to do to the earth...???

Shaun The Sheep

I have a new favorite song, and I would like to share the lyrics with you. You might like it too. It is called “Shaun The Sheep's Song.” Here are the lyrics…..

He’s Shaun the sheep
He’s Shaun the sheep
He even mucks about with those who cannot bleat
Keep it in mind, He’s one of a kind
Oh...Life’s a treat with Shaun the Sheep
He’s Shaun the sheep
He’s Shaun the sheep
He doesn’t miss a trick or ever lose a beat
Perhaps one day, You’ll find a way
To...Come and meet with Shaun the sheep
Oh...Come and bleat with Shaun the Sheep

Do you know that song?
It comes from a movie series, Shaun the sheep. The students at Kelt Jemursari specially the little ones like that very movie very much. Sometimes we saw the movie and make a lot of activities connecting to the Shaun the sheep movie. And last week after watching the movie we made Shaun the sheep mask. Do you know that we can learn english and watch movie at the same time.
So....we can learn english in a fun way too, right......

Happy Easter

We would like to tell you the story about Easter. Easter was a spring festival which was taken over by Christians to celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection. Jesus was ressurected from the dead three days, after his crucifixion . Christians celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday, two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday.

How about the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs then?

In legend, children make nests out of leaves, moss and grasses. Then they place these nests in their yard. They believe that during the night the Easter bunny will come and fill their nest with bright colored eggs, candy and toys to the homes of children on the night before Easter. The Easter Bunny will either put the baskets in a designated place or hide them somewhere in the house for the children to find when they wake up in the morning.

But nowadays the tradition is make the eggs out of chocolate.

Here at Kelt Jemursari also celebrate Easter, we had games and Easter egg hunt. The students love it very much because each off them got a chocolate egg for the present. It was a lot of fun…..

Happy Easter everyone.

Kelt Zero Waste Campaign

We have done a new thing this term, which is giving our students a "Kelt Zero Waste" bag. This is to help the Zero Waste Campaign, which is designed to educate people about the importance of recycling, re-using and the proper disposal of rubbish.

These bags were made from used car tyres.

Do you guys know why we make the bags from used car tyres?
Because we would like to minimize, as much as we can, unnecessary waste....

Waste can been defined as: "any material, solid, liquid or gas, that is unwanted and undervalued, that is thrown away. however some waste can be a useful resource when re-used for a beneficial purpose.

"One man's rubbish is another man's treasure"
